Celebrating Our Centennial
Centennial Marina Days
July 16 and 17, 2022*
Multiple events were planned to enjoy, music, food, and family-fun activities. The LIC brought the Virginia V steamer, “an icon of maritime history”, to the marina.
SATURDAY MORNING
On Saturday, July 16th the Virginia V cruised from Foss Warf in Tacoma to the Longbranch Marina. The cruise started at the LIC at 8:30am, with passengers boarding a charter bus to Foss Warf where they embarked on the Virginia V and cruised to the Longbranch Marina, arriving back at 1:30pm. The cost was $125 and included a box lunch and shuttle service.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON
Starting at 2:00pm, the 100-year-old Virginia V passenger ferry offered tours. Passengers parked at the LIC, purchased a $5 tour ticket, and were then shuttled to and from the marina. Tours focused on the historical significance of the PNW Mosquito Fleet Ferry Service when there were no roads and this boat in particular. At the LIC Clubhouse the family-friendly event offered a historical display and refreshments available for purchase.
SATURDAY EVENING
The evening of the 16th featured a Step Back in Time Party on the Virginia V. The cost of this event was $75 per person and included a shuttle to and from the LIC, appetizers, and live music aboard the Virginia V. There was also a cash bar. The party went from 6:30pm until 9:30pm. This event was a benefit for The Longbranch Foundation’s Scholarship & Student Programs.
